Part of the exhibition Acting Normal at Æglageret with Simon Fensholm and Morten Hemingsen Sørup.
This 3D printed sculpture was an experiment in creating a bust with the females hair acting as a lever for a head, holding it and partly covering her features.
During the process of digital sculpting in zBrush I sought ways to create an artifact with features that would be difficult to attain with traditional methods with clay. With clay, her head wouldn’t be able to support itself but with a 3D-printer and the support created, these kind of shapes are possible.
Working with an Ender3 and its rather limited surface of 220×220 mm., one has to create links in the constructed and divide the sculpture in two – as shown the fotos. Glued together, polished, painted and varnished to create this one of a kind sculpture.
