A wavy festival bench of recycled materials

This piece of furniture inhabits elements of playfulness and style of Italian classics from the 60’s and 70’s combined with modern Scandinavian aesthetics and the brutalist steel frame.

The original idea was to create a design where the cushion was the main component of focus, but as the iteration continued the steel frame got round shapes to soften the harshness of the steel. The result is a comfortable and mobile lounge chair on wheels.

When designing the metal-frame it became apparent it was nice to add some friendly and welcoming round shapes, referencing the wavy shapes of the 60’s and 70’s celebration and playfulnes and fun.
